BdayMate Support
BdayMate is a simple app so you never forget a birthday, name day, or important date. Add the people who matter, set reminders, and use message ideas so you never miss a thing.

How does BdayMate work?
Add an event
​
Tap the "+" button to create a new event. Enter the person’s name, the type of event (birthday, name day, anniversary, or other), the day and month (and year if you know it). You can add notes (gift ideas, things to remember) and a custom reminder message (e.g. “Buy a gift”, “Call them”).

Set your reminders
​
For each event, choose when you want to be reminded: on the day, 1 day before, 3 days before, 1 week before, or 2 weeks before. You can also set the time when the notification appears (e.g. 9:00). These settings are saved per event.

View your events
​
The list shows your events grouped by period: This week, This month, Next month, Later, etc. Today’s date is shown at the top. Tap an event to see its details (e.g. “Turning X this year” if the year is set, reminder, message ideas).

Use message ideas
​
On an event’s detail screen, use “Message ideas”: sample texts for birthday, name day, or anniversary (with or without emojis, casual or more formal). You can copy or adapt them to send a message.

Search and delete
​
Use the search bar to find someone by name. To delete an event, swipe the row left and tap “Delete”, or delete it from the detail screen.

Where are your data stored?
​
Your events and settings are stored only on your device. No data is sent to our servers. iCloud or iTunes/Finder backups may include this data if you have backups enabled.

Frequently asked questions
Why am I not getting notifications?
Check that notifications are allowed for BdayMate: Settings > Notifications > BdayMate. Also make sure the notification time you set for the event hasn’t already passed on the reminder day.

Can I edit an event after creating it?

Yes. Open the event from the list and tap “Edit” to change the name, date, type, reminders, or notes.
​
How do I delete all my data?
​
You can delete each event one by one, or uninstall the app: all data stored locally by BdayMate will then be removed.
​
Is the app available in multiple languages?
​
Yes. BdayMate uses your device’s language (French or English). Notifications appear in the app’s language.
